Checklist – Home Didn’t Sell

It’s certainly a frustrating experience to have had your home on the market with out it selling.

What is even more sickening is knowing that the lost time has probably cost you money with declining homes values, and that your property now has an unsuccessful selling history to overcome.

If you are considering putting your home on the market again, be sure to ask your next agent the tough questions before hiring them.

Checklist of questions for your next agent:

  • How many hours per day do you spend on the phone in search of a buyer for my home?
  • How many homes do your door knock surrounding mine in search of a buyer?
  • How many prospective buyers do you have in your database that you are going to tell about my home?
  • How many agents in your office are you going to individually in form of my listing?
  • Is it just you, or do you have other people of your team out prospecting for buyers and promoting my home?
  • Do you take the photos, or are they taken by a professional photographer?
  • What web sites, specifically, will my home appear on (don’t accept a number, ask for which ones)?
  • What systems do you use and will share with me regarding the amount of people looking at my home online?
  • What feedback system do you have to ensure I get appropriate feedback on my home in a timely and consistent manner?
  • What social media technology do you use to maximize the exposure of my home to potential buyers?
  • What is your track record of getting homes sold as opposed to listed for sale? How many homes have you listed that have not sold?
  • What is the average percentage of the original sales price of homes you’ve listed for sale versus the final selling price?
  • Can I cancel my listing agreement with you at any time?

If you find these questions helpful, you might like a copy of a comprehensive evaluation document that contains these any many more questions to ensure you get the best possible outcome  the next time your home is offered for sale.  Just give us a call at 775-432-6300 and we’d be happy to drop a copy in the mail to you.
