“Helping Boomers with Mid-Life Decisions”
Reno, NV, April 2017 – Brett and Annette Junell, Certified Senior Housing Professionals with Keller Williams, were recognized in the Spring 2017 edition of Generation Boomer for their work to inform local seniors about services available to them as well as to provide exceptional service to seniors beyond simply helping them buy and sell real estate. Each month the Junell’s host a Retired Living Truth Series seminar, to which they invite local seniors to learn about topics relevant to them free of charge.
The Junell’s partner with local professionals in various fields in order to form a panel of subject matter experts for each seminar, so that attendees can get the information straight from individuals that work in those specific disciplines. Seniors can enjoy a 90-minute information session, which includes a question and answer period, where they will not be pressured into buying anything or making any decisions, they can simply get answers to questions significant to them.
Annette is quoted, “Many [seniors] also had questions about what resources were available in the community. We wanted to help eliminate some of those barriers.”
The article explains the history of the seminars here in the Reno-Sparks area and how the seminars continue to grow as a wide variety of topics are covered. To ensure the subjects of the seminars are relevant, the Junell’s frequently incorporate topics suggested by seminar attendees. Recent topics include, independent and assisted living options, reverse mortgages, and tax, financial and legal issues. Downsizing in 5 Easy Steps so far has been the most popular subject as many seniors often feel overwhelmed at the prospect of transitioning from one phase of their life into retirement and the entire seminar is dedicated into informing seniors of services available to help with that transition.
“We are always looking to know how we can fill the gaps in resources available, if we do not have the answers, we find them.” – Annette Junell
